About Slovenia

Slovenia is slightly greater than 20.000 sq km with about 2 million people. Its closest countries are Italy on west, Austria on north, Hungary on northeast and Croatia southeast. Capital city Ljubljana is located in the centre of the country and has about 250.000 people. Slovenia is really a diverse country that has the Julian Alps, the Mediterranean, the Dinaric Mountain Range and the Pannonian Plain. Because of its rather small size it is possible to experience its diversity in one single day just using the car despite I would recommend at least a couple of days to see the most interesting places. Slovenia is quite well connected with other cities in Europe with the international airport that is about 25 km from Ljubljana.
